Finding a high quality stock replacement turbo manifold for the SR20DET isn't the easiest task, there's only few companies that make one, while theres a ton of other companies that make knock off versions, while being cheap…its one of those things when the saying "you get what you paid for" goes in hand. I've seen many "knock off" brand manifolds crack and even loose debris inside the manifold destroying turbos.

DOC Race makes a high quality piece that doesn't hurt the wallet, At $495 MSRP I had to pick one up to see what it's all about. At first glance the manifold looks different then any other SR20DET stock replacement manifold out there. The guys at DOC race told me its due to the true merge collector for maximum efficiency . Every manifold is hand TIG welded with SCH 40 Stainless Steel and even has a cool DOC Race badge welded right on to the runner. The manifold fit perfectly on my SR20DET and looks better then any other manifold I've seen.

After receiving the manifold, I also purchased an OEM Nissan S15 7 layer manifold gasket and an OEM Nissan turbo gasket so I know I wouldn't get leaks. The install was a breeze since the motor was out of the car, but will be quite a bit more difficult if the motor was in the engine bay. So if anyone is about to do a turbo upgrade or doing a swap... That would be a perfect time to pick up this manifold!

Here's my stock S14 SR20DET, the stock cast manifold is strong but not efficient as a tubular manifold would be. It's also an rough to look at. I never been a fan of cast manifolds.

Here's a side by side comparison between the OEM SR20DET manifold and the DOC Race stock replacement. First off you can see the manifold is a lot bigger due to the tubular runners, but the turbo sits in the exact same spot after installing it. It also looks a lot better!

Precision hand welds by the guys at DOC Race are not only nice but strong as well.

DOC Race might be a new name to a lot of people. They officially opened their doors in March 2011 in Portland, Oregon. The founders John Pham and Tyler Davis worked together years before at Ground Zero Motorsports. They worked side by side with tuner Ralph Friend, to help develop high quality products that makes good power.

Not only does DOC Race make applications for the Nissan motors, they also build manifold for Toyotas, Honda, Mazda, and Mitsubishi. varying from stock replacements such as mine to full on T3 and T4 applications. Manifolds aren't the only thing they build, they also carry custom intercoolers and intake manifolds for certain motors. They are also planning on releasing a full 350z turbo kit this year!
