About me: I have been a rotary enthusiast since my first ride in one back in 1991, A 1989 Turbo II in Black. This is actually my 34th rotary out of the 37 I been through! Yes 37 rotary cars only, they were a lot easier to find 10 years ago they were a big part of my life. The FC3S 89-91 RX7's and I shared some great memories together. If I could not understand anything else in this world, the FC3S will likely be my solace and provides great company on my drives. Here I am 19 years later, still driving a RX-7, I figured this one will be my last FC3S 86-91 RX7 model. I will be doing all the work myself, engine, paint and body work, suspension, and so forth. Over the years I picked up many skills which allow me to do all my own work so I can fully appreciate it and have it done "My Way."

Every year, the runways at Naval Station Coronado-North Island are shut down and converted into a race track. Over this weekend in what is part of San Diego Fleet Week, some of the cleanest and fastest vintage race cars south of Sonoma gather to race each other for pride and to put on a show for our troops. I have been fortunate enough to have been invited to this event for the last two years and it is always a blast. Over the two days I was there, I took close to 3,000 photos (not all were usable) but I was able to come away with around 1,200-1,500 images and this is a selection of some of my favorites from the weekend. Well to start off my name is Johnny and I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Most of my influence comes from back home, in the earlier years I was around cars and everyone would show off their build. Whether it was a Low Rider rolling on Vogues with the yellow sidewall; Old School V8s built to the block: Imports tuned with the most ridiculous forced induction setups ever seen. I was very impressionable at that age and it was around the time when the first Fast and the Furious came out so the scene just exploded. Growing up in that environment as soon as I got a license I got my first rice burner, an 01 Accord Coupe.
I didn't do do much to it besides an exhaust and a set of cheap wheels. Eventually the transmission blew out and I had to find a ride fast. I was desperate to find a car to last long enough for the FT86 Concept to be reality (I had it in my mind that I would buy this car no matter what). That's when my MK3 Supra found me, I ran through that and an S13 then finally into my BRZ. Continue reading...

My name is Brett and I have been a member of Xclusive Scions car club in socal for the past five years. I used to own a vip inspired gen 2 xB, but fell in love with the fr-s after seeing the first concept. Pulled the trigger and have been loving the car since. Seeing that the car was a tribute to the AE86 I wanted to go a little retro with wheels on the car and went with some super advan v2. I want the car to be a fun daily driver that I can take to the track or to a show. Continue reading...
